A juicy, fall apart chicken with incredible flavour — no oven needed.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (1.5–2kg)
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp mixed herbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper

Method

  1. Place onion, lemon and garlic in the slow cooker.
  2. Mix all seasonings and rub over the chicken.
  3. Sit the chicken breast side up on top of the aromatics.
  4. Cook on LOW 6–7 hours or HIGH 4 hours.
  5. For crispy skin, grill for 5–8 minutes after cooking.
  6. Rest before carving.
