A rich, slow simmered meat sauce that never goes out of style.

Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 200ml beef stock
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • 300g spaghetti

Method

  1. Fry onion, carrot and garlic in oil until soft.
  2. Add mince and brown well.
  3. Stir in tomato purée, herbs, tomatoes and stock.
  4. Simmer for 30–40 minutes.
  5. Cook spaghetti and serve with the sauce.
