A classic chip shop style pie with a rich onion gravy filling.
Ingredients
- 500g beef mince
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp flour
- 400ml beef stock
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 sheet shortcrust pastry
- Salt & pepper
Pastry
- 250g plain flour
- 125g butter
- 1-3 tbsp milk or water
- pinch salt
Method
- Fry mince and onions until browned.
- Stir in flour and cook 1 minute.
- Add stock and Worcestershire; simmer until thick.
- Fill a pie dish, top with pastry and bake at 200°C for 25–30 minutes.
