A family favourite — juicy meatballs in a rich tomato sauce.
Ingredients
For the meatballs:
- 500g beef mince
- 1 egg
- 50g breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
- Salt & pepper
For the sauce:
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tin chopped tomatoes
- 1 tbsp tomato purée
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tbsp oil
300g spaghetti
Method
- Mix mince, egg, breadcrumbs, herbs, salt and pepper; form meatballs.
- Brown meatballs in a pan and set aside.
- Fry onion and garlic, add purée, tomatoes and oregano.
- Return meatballs to the sauce and simmer 20 minutes.
- Cook spaghetti and serve with the meatballs.
